Chilana
Meetu Chilana is an Award-winning filmmaker, singer/songwriter, actress and voice-over artist. With a traditional Sikh Punjabi upbringing, she is passionate about cultural representation in her work. Meetu has served as a Cultural Consultant for Netflix, New York Theater Workshop, La Jolla Playhouse, and Moonbug Entertainment.
She is Co-Producer and Music Consultant on Nardeep Khurmi’s Land of Gold (Tribeca 2022, AT&T Untold Stories 2021, Jury Honorable Mention Bentonville) and is currently focusing on producing documentaries about Sikhs in America. She has previously produced award-winning music videos and worked as an Associate Producer on feature films: Ira Sachs’ Little Men (Sundance 2016), Rehana Lew Mirza’s Hiding Divya.
BIOGRAPHY
Documentarian/ Producer/Writer

As a performer, she was the lead vocalist in two Cirque du Soleil shows (ZARKANA and KOOZA) which took her to Radio City Music Hall, the State Kremlin Palace, and touring around the US. She is currently in Mira Nair's musical adaptation of Monsoon Wedding, which premiered at the Berkeley Repertory Theater and will be debuting in New York this spring at St Ann’s Warehouse. She is passionate about developing musicals relating to the South Asian diaspora. Her voice-over work can be heard on commercials (Google Fi, Chipotle) or narrating numerous books on Audible.
As a singer/songwriter, she brings jazz and North Indian folk sensibilities to her vocals and writing. She has released 2 EPs of original music and is currently working on her third release. BFA Drama & Producing-NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
