This Pride Month, Snarky Elephant Productions turned the spotlight on stories that too often go unheard.

In partnership with Greenlit and Red Wall Productions, we proudly presented A Snarky Affair: Rewriting the Script on Marginalized Characters during Tribeca 2025—a night dedicated to radical visibility, creative disruption, and unapologetic queer storytelling. With two intimate screenings of Zari, our award-winning short film produced under the Julia S. Gouw Short Film Challenge with Janet Yang Productions and CAPE and directed by SEP cohort alumna, Shruti Parekh, guests experienced a bold reimagining of what representation can look like in media.

The evening featured dynamic conversations with industry trailblazers including Snarky’s own Neal Ludevig and Vishaal Reddy, along with Adina Luo, Dezi Gallegos, and Chandni Sharma Modi. Together, they unpacked the industry’s enduring “sidekick syndrome” and explored how queer, BIPOC, and other underrepresented voices can move from the margins to the center of the frame. As Zari continues to gain recognition across the globe, the event reaffirmed our mission: to champion stories that challenge, empower, and shift culture.
