Reflecting on 3 Years with Decentralized Pictures & Welcoming Our New Partnership with E2AC

Every organization has a handful of defining moments—small, serendipitous encounters that end up shaping its trajectory. For Snarky Elephant, one of those moments happened almost three years ago during a chance meeting in New York. What started as a simple conversation quickly revealed a shared belief: that storytelling thrives when honesty isn’t optional, when the truth is allowed to breathe, and when the people behind the stories are supported with radical transparency.

That conversation led to the beginning of our relationship with Decentralized Pictures.

From the very beginning, DCP’s mission resonated deeply with ours. Their commitment to democratizing support for filmmakers—creators of all backgrounds, budgets, and levels of experience—showed a rare kind of boldness. They weren’t just building technology; they were building trust. They were proving that transparency and access could live at the center of artist support systems, not at the margins.

For nearly three years, they served as Snarky Elephant’s fiscal sponsor, but their role in our story has been much more than administrative. Under the leadership of Leo Matchett, the DP team created room for us to grow into who we were becoming. They believed in our vision before it was fully formed. They encouraged experimentation. They supported us as we pursued the very heart of our mission—to tell stories that speak uncomfortable truths, address the “elephant in the room,” and uplift work rooted in radical honesty.

We are profoundly grateful for their partnership, their curiosity, and their unwavering support. 

To the entire Decentralized Pictures family: thank you. You helped us build our foundation. And now, with that foundation strong, we’re stepping into a new chapter—one defined by expansion, alignment, and renewed energy.
