Why do we do this? Because the work matters, and your support makes it possible. And as we look at what we’ve accomplished so far and where this journey is taking us next, we can’t help but notice December is here (isn’t that wild?). As we close out another wild, creative, caffeine-fueled year, we want to reflect on the path behind us, the road ahead, and the impact you’ve helped make real.

At Snarky Elephant, we don’t blend in. We craft content that’s unforgettable, unapologetic, and impossible to ignore. This year was about sharpening our tools - scripts, pitch decks, absurd-but-true ideas- and laying the foundation for stories that actually matter. They matter because these stories can finally make people notice what’s going on and, with any luck, kick off discussions that actually shift opinions on issues marginalized and
underrepresented communities have been dealing with for ages.
And it’s working. We are now at the point where a large part of our slate is officially ready to move into production.
Going Intergalactic (and Italian): Our animated sci-fi dramedy Ancient China of Mars landed at Rome’s MIA Market, putting a story about immigrants on the international stage. And while this subject is incredibly relevant given what is happening to immigrant communities today across America, 2024 Creator Andrew Leung’s choice to follow a family’s relocation from Earth to Mars was intentional. Immigration and ultimately displacement are universal themes that are a global issue that needs to be addressed. Perhaps that’s why Variety Global noticed us…
Four Major Projects Developed
Two feature documentaries (because the world clearly needs our perspective)
Two feature films, now pitch-ready - and yes, ready for anyone willing to invest.
A Snarky Affair: We gathered our people, alongside Proximity Media, CAPE USA, and Antigravity Media, at Ludlow House during the Tribeca Film Festival and celebrated creativity, community, and the future of Snarky Elephant. Check out our recap here.
Festival Love for Zari: Zari, a short we supported, didn’t just make the festival rounds- playing in 20+ film festivals, it earned applause, recognition, and critical acclaim globally. In addition to capturing the Grand Jury Prize for its NYC World Premiere and nominations for Best Narrative Short, it cemented 2023 SEP Cohort Member Shruti Parekh as a 2025 Director To Watch
Join the Herd: Help Us Be Bold
We’ve had wins - but we don’t want safe. We want bold. We want to create on our own terms, in ways that push boundaries and tell stories that matter. That takes more than ideas; it takes support, time, and funding.
If you’re able, please consider making a donation here.
If you’ve been cheering from the sidelines - or already in the trenches with us - this is the moment to step in. Every dollar helps us take risks, innovate, and make the stories the world hasn’t seen a reality yet.
With gratitude and unapologetic creativity,
Vishaal Reddy
