At Snarky Elephant Productions, we don’t do busywork. We build stories that shift culture. As a mission-driven film and media company based in Brooklyn, we champion underrepresented voices and unapologetically challenge the status quo. Our internship program is more than just a resume booster, it’s a proving ground for the next generation of fearless creatives.
Whether you're a budding filmmaker, a visionary marketer, a sharp copywriter, or someone with an uncanny sense of what’s next, interning with Snarky is your opportunity to dive headfirst into the indie media world. You’ll gain hands-on experience, mentorship from seasoned professionals, and the chance to build a portfolio that doesn’t just open doors—but kicks them down.
This summer, we’re thrilled to introduce two powerhouse interns who embody the spirit of Snarky: Ava Mingo and Hannah Tsai Kim. Their talent, voice, and vision are already making waves in the work we do, and we couldn’t be more excited to have them join our team.

Ava Mingo (she/her)
Actor, Director, and Producer
Ava Mingo is no stranger to the stage—or the spotlight. A Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary artist and graduate of Carnegie Mellon University’s prestigious BFA Acting program, Ava is already carving out a name for herself in New York’s performance scene. As the co-founder of Dartboard Productions, an interdisciplinary company rooted in community and ritual, Ava has been busy producing and performing original work both off-Broadway and in venues across the city.
She’s also a member of the acting company at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, where her deep belief in the transformative power of storytelling continues to thrive. At Snarky, Ava is bringing that same bold vision to our development and production efforts, helping us reimagine what character, narrative, and representation can look like on screen.

Hannah Tsai Kim
Documentary and Narrative Filmmaker
A filmmaker who moves effortlessly between documentary and scripted work, Hannah Tsai Kim brings nuance, intimacy, and rigor to every frame she shoots. Based between New York and Los Angeles, Hannah’s work explores the “stickiness” of diasporic identity in America—its complexities, contradictions, and small, sacred moments.
Currently completing her short documentary “So then, we’ll dance” and drafting a new film set in 1980s L.A., Hannah has already screened work at major festivals including the Newport Beach Film Festival, the Cambodia International Film Festival, and the Austin Asian American Film Festival. A Harvard University alum with a BA in Film and History & Literature, Hannah joins the Snarky team ready to document, disrupt, and deliver stories that matter.
Together, Ava and Hannah are helping bring Snarky’s mission to life: redefining who gets to tell stories—and how those stories are told. Follow along as they help us make the kind of work the industry doesn’t expect—but desperately needs.
At Snarky Elephant Productions, we’ve embedded the idea of shifting established standards and changing company cultures into our DNA. Snarky Elephant focuses exclusively on producing content about and by underrepresented groups, especially groups with the least amount of representation in film. We are dedicated to providing equal pay and equal representation among crew and employees. For more information, contact us at info@snarkyelephant.com or visit us at snarkyelephant.com
