A Letter from Our Founder

When I started a small passion project called INSOMNIA in 2018, I never imagined it would eventually become Snarky Elephant Productions.

At the time, I was a creator searching for an outlet. Frustrated by the limitations of the opportunities available to me and eager to build the kinds of stories and experiences I wanted to see in the world, I set out to create something of my own. What began as a creative experiment quickly grew into something much larger: a community of artists, storytellers, and collaborators committed to creating meaningful work together.

Over the last six years, Snarky Elephant Productions has accomplished more than I could have ever imagined. Together, we launched three artist incubator programs, produced numerous live events, developed short films and independent series, and brought a feature film to life. Along the way, we built partnerships, championed emerging artists, and created opportunities for countless creatives to connect, learn, and grow.

Serving as CEO has been one of the greatest privileges of my professional life. The role challenged me to grow not only as a leader, but as an entrepreneur, producer, and collaborator. Building an organization from the ground up taught me invaluable lessons about resilience, vision, community, and the responsibility that comes with leading a mission-driven creative company.

As Snarky Elephant enters its next phase of growth, I have decided to step aside as Chief Executive Officer.

This decision comes from a place of excitement and clarity. While leading Snarky has been deeply rewarding, I have realized that my next chapter lies in returning more fully to the work that inspired this journey in the first place: creating, performing, and telling stories. I am eager to dedicate more of my time and energy to my artistic pursuits while supporting the continued evolution of the organization.

I will continue to remain involved as Founder and support the company through this leadership transition as we formalize the next chapter of governance and organizational growth. We have officially begun the search for Snarky Elephant Productions' next CEO, and I am confident that new leadership will help guide the organization toward an even brighter future.

I would also like to recognize the individuals whose contributions have been instrumental to our success.

To Alexis, thank you for growing alongside this organization from the very beginning. What started as our first intern relationship evolved into so much more. Through your dedication, passion, and commitment to our mission, you became an indispensable part of the organization and a true development leader. 

To Taylor, thank you for your creativity, strategic thinking, and marketing expertise. Your work has helped shape the public identity of Snarky Elephant and expand our reach in meaningful ways.

And to Neal, thank you for your unwavering partnership, support, and belief in this vision. From the earliest days of this journey to where we stand today, your leadership and friendship have been invaluable. There is no one else I would have wanted beside me while building this organization, and I am incredibly proud of everything we have accomplished together.

To everyone who has supported Snarky Elephant Productions over the years - our artists, audiences, partners, donors, volunteers, and community members - thank you. Your belief in our mission has made every milestone possible.

While my role is changing, my commitment to this organization remains strong. I look forward to supporting Snarky Elephant as it enters this exciting new chapter and watching the next generation of leadership continue to build upon the foundation we have created together.
